Methodology
This node publishes only facts that official registries record and that pass six gates, decided by code alone.
The six gates
- Gate 1, direct source: the node reads only allow-listed official endpoints, over TLS checked against the system trust store. No aggregators, no scraping, no open-source intelligence.
- Gate 2, schema: a record with a missing or mistyped field, or an unknown code, is rejected.
- Gate 3, mapping: one table in code maps each source code to exactly one value. No language model and no fuzzy matching.
- Gate 4, cross-field: every record passes the cross-field rules; a rejected record changes no published fact.
- Gate 5, anchoring: the credential carries the hash of the raw registry response, an RFC 3161 timestamp authority stamps it, and the node signs it.
- Gate 6, challenge and drift: anyone may challenge a credential; the node checks the source, and revokes and reissues the credential when the facts changed.
The three public classes
Every published fact shows one of three classes:
- Authoritative: recorded by the official source registry
- Verified: checked by this node under its published rules
- Asserted: stated by the company, not checked
Brazilian data
Receita Federal publishes CNPJ open data once a month. Every Brazilian fact and credential shows the monthly as-of date of the release it comes from, so it can be up to a month behind the registry's own record.
Signatures
Credentials are W3C Verifiable Credentials signed by this node and timestamped by an independent timestamp authority. The signatures are not eIDAS qualified.
